Cornerstone Alliance exec recognized with 2025 Robert Sieghart Award

Greg King, director of economic development at Cornerstone Alliance, has received the 2025 Robert Sieghart Award from the Michigan Economic Developers Association.

The award recognizes professionals who demonstrate vision, collaboration, and impact in strengthening communities across the state. Recipients are noted for advancing the field of economic development, mentoring others, and encouraging diverse participation.

“Greg makes economic development exciting, personal, and full of possibility,” said Marla Schneider, president and CEO of Cornerstone Alliance. “His ability to connect people, build partnerships, and drive results has created lasting impact not just here in Southwest Michigan but across the state.”

King’s career has included roles with Lakeshore Advantage and Greater Muskegon Economic Development. His work has supported projects including a $70 million GE Aviation expansion in Muskegon County and LG Energy Solution’s $1.7 billion expansion in Holland. He has also secured more than $2.2 million in workforce training funds and developed a business intelligence survey that engaged more than 100 employers.

King, a longtime MEDA member, called the award an honor. “Economic development is about people and about creating opportunities that change lives and communities,” he said. “This award is as much theirs as it is mine.”
