Fernwood Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve is set to host its annual Garden Party fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 21, beginning at 2 p.m.
The event will feature remarks and a meet-and-greet with Daniel Hinkley, a Michigan native known internationally as a plantsman, author, collector, and lecturer. Hinkley is the founder of Heronswood Nursery in Washington and Windcliff on the Kitsap Peninsula, and he designed Fernwood’s newest garden and teaching space, The Stumpery.
According to event organizers, guests will be offered food prepared by Chef Tim Carrigan of Wood, Stock and Grill, and Chef Barbara Funnell of The Grateful Pie Company, along with craft beer, wine, and Herbal Tarot readings.
The fundraiser will include a live auction featuring items and experiences such as a trip to Seattle with airfare, accommodations, and personalized garden tours. An online silent auction will also be held, including garden planters designed by Fernwood’s staff.
Proceeds will benefit Fernwood’s stewardship of its 105-acre property and support educational programs such as internships, school field trips, and summer day camps.
Tickets are available through Sept. 7 at this link.
