The Berrien County Veterans Service Department is urging everyone to show their support for veterans next month with Operation Green Light.
Department Director Maureen Adams tells us Operation Green Light invites everyone to light up their porches with a green light from November 1 to November 12 to let veterans know they’re appreciated. She says they started doing it last year, and people responded.
“We asked people to share them on our Facebook page,” Adams said. “The county lit up both of our courthouses and our administration building. And then we had a lot of people share their pictures on Facebook.”
Adams says supporters are eager to show their love again.
“This year we’ve already got people calling asking, ‘Hey, where do I get my green light bulbs at?’ So yeah, definitely people did participate.”
To answer that question — Adams says you can get some great green light bulbs on Amazon. Or just get one at the hardware store.
