South Haven to cease seasonal operations on Dyckman Bridge Saturday

The city of South Haven is advising boaters that the Dyckman Bridge will be ceasing its seasonal operations starting this Saturday.

As of November 1, the bridge will no longer be regularly staffed for the winter, meaning all bridge openings will be by request only. Also, during the off-season, requests for bridge openings must be submitted at least 12 hours in advance. That’s in accordance with federal law.

Requests to open the bridge can be made by contacting the city of South Haven Public Works Department.

When the Dyckman Bridge is regularly staffed, its tenders monitor Channel 9 and transmit on Channel 12 on VHF Marine Frequency.

Anyone with questions should contact the city.
