St. Joseph Public Schools is inviting all lovers of astronomy, and also those who just want to see something cool, to come out to an open house at Upton Middle School this month.
SJPS Superintendent Kristen Bawks says they’re going to show off a feature not many schools have.
“The planetarium at Upton Middle School is such a unique and really neat experience for our students as well as our community,” Bawks said. “We have an open house planned for December 15, and we would invite residents to come and see that amazing programming.”
The theme that evening is “Legends of the Night Sky: Orion,” and Bawks says it ought to be fun for anyone.
“They can expect to see our beautiful seats and our beautiful planetarium that has been maintained excellently.”
Bawks says the planetarium is in such great shape thanks to the support of the St. Joseph Public Schools Foundation, which has maintained it.
The open house on the 15th will run from 6:30 to 7:15.
