MoodyOnTheMarket.com told you last week of plans to open a new Ace Hardware location in Bridgman.  The announcement came in a 94.9 WSJM morning news interview with Greater Bridgman Chamber and Growth Alliance Director Nancy Kiernan.

Chip Borre, owner of the area’s Ace Hardware outlets in St. Joseph, Stevensville and Watervliet reached out to tell us that he plans to have the new Bridgman location up and running by sometime in April.

That’s probably sooner than most observers might have expected.  However, with the building already being there, in the form of the former Rite Aid drugstore, and configured in an open concept retail manner, Ace apparently can move quickly to ready the space for operation.

Borre commented on the expansion into Bridgman:

“The Bridgman community has long been on our radar. We’ve heard from many customers who wanted the convenience of a local Ace in this area, and when this location became available, it felt like the perfect opportunity. We are thrilled to bring our friendly service and helpful expertise to Bridgman and look forward to serving our new neighbors.”

The Bridgman Ace Hardware will be located at the corner of Gast and Shawnee Roads in the retail center that also includes a Harding’s Market.

Borre said that his son, Matt Borre, will be the general manager of all four Ace outlets in the area.
