Cass Family Clinic has announced the appointment of Rachel Schiman who will serve as the licensed master social worker for its Mobile Health Clinic heading into 2026.
Schiman joins Cass Family Clinic after working at Geriatric Connections in St. Joseph. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Texas State University and a Master of Social Work degree from Texas State University.
Since mid-November, the Mobile Health Clinic has been seeing patients and bringing primary care and wellness services directly to communities across Berrien and Cass counties, including Marcellus, Three Oaks, Vandalia, Edwardsburg, Union, Sister Lakes, Niles, Decatur, and Jones.
“I’m thrilled to join Cass Family Clinic and continue providing social work services through the Mobile Health Clinic,” said Schiman. “The Mobile Health Clinic is meeting critical healthcare needs in communities across Southwest Michigan, and I’m proud to be part of an effort that expands access to care.”
The Mobile Health Clinic provides another avenue for residents to access quality, compassionate healthcare close to home, offering health and wellness exams, sports physicals, substance use disorder (SUD) behavioral therapy, acute musculoskeletal issues, influenza vaccinations, patient education, and other medical resources.
The year-round Mobile Health Clinic operates Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at various locations throughout Southwest Michigan. New patients and walk-in appointments are welcome and will be registered onsite. Schedule and location details for the Mobile Health Clinic can be found online at cassfamilyclinic.org/mobile-clinic.
“We’re excited to welcome Rachel to our Mobile Health Clinic team,” Joe Gavan, CEO of Cass Family Clinic. “Rachel is a trusted LMSW who will bring mental health patient care to the forefront of our Mobile Health Clinic.”
The Mobile Health Clinic’s services are available to everyone in the community, not just current Cass Family Clinic patients. Residents may register as new patients ahead of time at cassfamilyclinic.org/mobile-clinic or by calling (269) 445-3874.
Medicaid and most private insurance plans are accepted. For those without insurance, a sliding fee scale based on income and household size is available.
