Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph has welcomed its first baby of 2026.
Corewell says little Drextan Delaney was born on Thursday, January 1 at 1:28 a.m. to parents Angelica Murcia and Khirus Delaney, Sr. Drextan weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and is 20.75 inches long.
This is the couple’s first baby together.
Drextan took his time arriving as he was originally expected on December 23. He’s named with Khirus’s brother in mind, as well as his Zodiac sign, Capricorn.
Corewell says Drextan and Mom are doing well.
