A familiar name in downtown St. Joseph has reappeared–opening for business across State Street from its longtime location. Elephant’s Breath Antiques–which specializes in antique and re-purposed furniture and related items–proclaimed its return in a social media post over the weekend.

For over 20 years, Elephants Breath Antiques was proudly owned and operated by our family right here in this community. Many of you know us, shopped with us, and supported us for decades — and for that, we are deeply grateful.Recently, due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to leave our longtime location.Important clarification:� The business currently operating at our former location is not affiliated with us, was not purchased from us, and did not acquire our inventory, name, history, or goodwill. We retained ownership of Elephants Breath Antiques, our business identity, and our legacy.While it has been disappointing to see confusion around this transition, we want to be very clear and transparent with our community:� Elephants Breath Antiques continues under the original ownership and family that built it over the past two decades.We are excited to announce the relaunch of Elephants Breath Antiques in a new chapter — with the same passion, knowledge, and integrity you’ve always known.
