The Benton Harbor Sunrise Rotary (BHSR) Foundation awards challenge grants annually through its application process. Those applications are now available.
Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose project aligns with BHSR Club’s mission to “…serve the youth within the geographical area of the Benton Harbor school district” may apply.
Partially funded by proceeds from the annual Great Pumpkin Raffle, the BHSR Foundation Board will review submitted applications in April. Grants in amounts
ranging from $500 to $1,500 will be announced in May.
Priority is given to initiatives that promote literacy, numeracy, and personal development, as well as those that enrich the lives of our youth, thereby strengthening the wider community. Projects that proactively identify and address needs that uplift and support young people in the Benton Harbor community will be given strongest consideration during the grant review process.
Organizations that align with the Club’s goals and mission are encouraged to visit the Benton Harbor Sunrise Rotary website at www.bhsunriserotary.org to download the Foundation’s Challenge Grant application. Please complete the application in its entirety and return it via email no later than Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Mailed-in applications will not be accepted.
