Andrews University Presents Easter Choral Concert

Andrews Easter concert

On Saturday, April 4, at 8:30 p.m., the Andrews University Department of Music will present an Easter choral concert titled “Unsealed: Life Triumphant!” The concert will feature two profound and contrasting sacred works: “Christ lag in Todesbanden” by Johann Sebastian Bach and “Rejoice in the Lamb” by Benjamin Britten.

The program explores themes of resurrection, joy and spiritual reflection from baroque, 20th century and 21st century musical voices. Stephen Zork, director of choral studies, will lead the Andrews University Singers during the concert.

The performance will also serve as the graduate choral conducting recital for student Jahaziel Gutierrez, who will direct a chamber orchestra selected from the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra along with organists Kenneth Logan and Brenton Offenback.

Community members are encouraged to support the Department of Music and enjoy this student-led program that celebrates the Easter season with depth, beauty and artistry. Tickets can be purchased at howard.andrews.edu. General admission tickets are priced individually at $8.50. Students and seniors can purchase discounted tickets for $6.50 (with a limit of two tickets per student ID). For more information, contact the Howard Box Office at 269-471-3560.

The Howard Performing Arts Center is a premier 850-seat concert hall on the campus of Andrews University.
