The Paw Paw Police Department has recognized members of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department for their service to the community.
During a recent ceremony, several deputies were honored individually, while the sheriff’s department reserve division received a group award for its dedication over the past year.
The sheriff’s department says deputies and reserve members played a key role in 2024, stepping in during staffing shortages and helping support large community events, like concerts and festivals.
Sheriff Daniel Abbott says the recognition highlights the importance of teamwork between agencies, noting that strong partnerships help improve response capabilities and strengthen public trust.
Both departments say they look forward to continuing to serve Paw Paw and the surrounding community.
