After 14 years, Greenbush Brewing Company in Sawyer has closed its doors.
Word started getting around on social media Tuesday, a day after Greenbush announced it was selling all of its canned beer and merchandise for 50% off. In a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, Greenbush said, “We could point to a lot of things in the world economy that finally brought us to a dead end but everyone reads the news and looks around.”
Greenbush continued, “the simple reality is that the restaurant world is hurting and we were no exception.” It says it kicked the can down the road as long as it could, but in the end, it’s time to shut down.
Greenbush thanked all of the supporters that enabled it to serve up beer, burgers, and more for fourteen years, ten months, and three days.
Greenbush’s website now says the business is permanently closed.
