A Sip of Nostalgia: Local filmmakers seek extras for commercial shoot at Peat’s Cider Social

Lights. Camera. Bowling. Cider. Action.

Little Red Fern, a visual media company based in southwest Michigan, is looking for extras for a new commercial production that films next Tuesday, March 7 at Peats Cider Social.

Filmmaker and storyteller Ryan Cheevers said his company is once again teaming up with local production company JV Studios on a commercial that will transport its audience back to another era.

The video is titled “A Sip of Nostalgia,” and will begin in present-day. Cheevers said the lead actor will then take a sip of Peat’s cider and be taken to the late 1960’s.

“Its a pretty cool and ambitious story,” Cheevers said. “The whole goal for us is to really make it believable that you’re being taken back to a great era. You’ll see that transformation through costume and some redecorating of Peat’s.”

Extras who are selected will not be paid, but will get perks including free bowling during breaks, Peat’s cider, a raffle and a behind-the-pins tour of the bowling alley.

“We want to make sure people feel like the experience was worth it,” Cheevers said. “We’re going to have a good time.”

To sign up to be an extra, visit the Little Red Fern website. Extras must arrive in casual clothing for Scene One. Wardrobe will be provided, and sizes will be needed from every extra, for Scene Two.

Cheevers said he expects the 60-second video to be available for the public to view sometime in April on the Peat’s social media pages
