Abonmarche is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Burkman, PE as Vice President, effective Monday, September 29. Based out of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Tim will provide leadership and oversight for civil engineering operations across Michigan, with a strong focus on public infrastructure projects for governmental entities. In this role, he will guide strategic direction, foster team development, ensure project excellence, and strengthen client relationships, including advancing Abonmarche’s business development initiatives.
Tim brings more than 20 years of engineering leadership experience serving municipalities throughout Michigan and Indiana. Most recently, he held the role of City Engineer for the City of Grand Rapids, where he managed complex municipal infrastructure initiatives and played a key role in advancing community-focused improvements. Over the course of his career, Tim has led multidisciplinary teams and provided oversight across core areas including engineering design, project management, construction inspection, public works, utilities, parks and recreation, capital planning, transportation network improvements, right-of-way permitting, GIS data management, grant support, and fiscal and business operations.
