Abonmarche is the recipient of an Engineering Merit Award for the Asset Management Leads to Community Sustainability project for the city of Benton Harbor, awarded by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan.
The engineering firm says it helped the city create an Asset Management Plan for the maintenance and development of infrastructure. As a result, it says the city was able to undertake one of the largest infrastructure improvement projects it has seen in decades.
The asset management plan has led to infrastructure improvements totaling about $15 million. It’s also enabled the city to move from a utility services budget shortfall of more than $900,000 to a surplus of $345,000 by 2025.
The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan presented Abonmarche with its award for the asset management work at an event this month.
