In the heart of Michigan’s Great Southwest, All Star Family Chiropractic isn’t just a clinic—it’s a hub of healing, education, and community connection, led by its passionate founder, Dr. Sandy Martin. A proud local, Dr. Sandy, as she likes to be called, returned to her roots after earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in South Carolina, bringing home not only her skills but a vision to transform health for families in the region.
“All Star is about more than pain relief,” Dr. Sandy says. “We walk alongside our patients as they become the best versions of themselves.” Her approach is built on spinal health, nervous system optimization, and a deep belief in the body’s ability to heal when properly aligned and supported.
Dr. Sandy’s journey into chiropractic wasn’t a straight line. Once working toward becoming a marine biologist, it was during her college years—while working for a chiropractor—that she discovered her calling. “It hit me like a V8 moment,” she laughs. “I had been living the chiropractic lifestyle since I was four years old and didn’t even realize it.”
Today, All Star Family Chiropractic offers far more than adjustments. From curve correction and decompression therapy to brain-tap technology, wave therapy, and prenatal and pediatric chiropractic, Dr. Sandy and her team support every stage of life. Special emphasis is placed on spinal hygiene, a concept she’s passionate about teaching. “The nervous system is the foundation of the body’s performance,” she explains. “You can eat well and exercise, but if your spine and nervous system are out of alignment, it won’t be enough.”
Patient education is central to the All Star experience. Dr. Sandy offers monthly workshops—covering everything from hormone balance to sleep and stress—for her favorite demographic: women ages 35–55 navigating perimenopause and menopause. Through her new initiative called All Star Mama Coaching, she’s building a wellness movement for women who want to thrive, not just survive.
Beyond the clinic walls, community connection drives Dr. Sandy’s mission. She regularly sponsors school events, supports organizations like Champions for HD (Huntington’s disease), and hosts patient appreciation gatherings. “Our patients support us, and we’re committed to giving back.”
At All Star Family Chiropractic, Dr. Sandy’s approach leads with the belief that healing is holistic, heartfelt, and community-focused. She says her greatest reward is witnessing her patients truly feel good.
Thinking about the difference a holistic treatment approach can make, Dr. Sandy shared a story about a woman who had suffered from debilitating, near-daily headaches for 20 years. Dr. Sandy says after four weeks of care, the headaches have disappeared. Dr. Sandy also tells the story about a patient who came in with phase two degeneration — essentially a lot of arthritis in the small of her back and her discs were starting to compress.
“We put a comprehensive plan together that included chiropractic, curve correction, and decompression. That’s a lot to ask because when you’re doing decompression, you’re in our office for almost an hour a day, three days a week.”
At first, the patient hesitated in following Dr. Sandy’s recommended course. But after thinking about it and talking with her husband, she started the treatment.
“Within one week, she didn’t need to grab the handrail going up and down stairs. Within two weeks, her entire family was like, ‘Hey, where’d you get this energy?’ Now she’s at four weeks, almost completely done with the program for decompression, and she’s just a totally new person, even back to dancing.”
Helping people remove daily pain from their lives, Dr. Sandy says her work is incredibly rewarding.
“I get the shakes just thinking about how much (my patient’s) life has changed. That’s why we do it. That’s why we’re here.”
