How do you think that Bold Women of Business demonstrate being bold?
I think Bold Women of Business demonstrate being bold by showing up confidently, understanding their strengths as well as shortcomings so they know how and or when to ask for help and most of all being appreciative.
Bold women are often defined by a number of descriptors. What top three would say most exemplify your personality?
Confident
Daring
Strong
Please provide an example of when you feel you were at your very best in taking action on the job or in your role.
A little over a year ago we did a major renovation on the Club’s Teen Center. It was a lot going at the time, but as I reflect back on the time, it was an amazing time – all the cards fell into place. And when I think back on it, even I’m impressed it all got done.
What’s the funniest thing that ever happened on your road to success?
Nothing is coming to mind but what has been funny is to watch those who are extremely close and part of my inner circle know you so well and how you roll – role play you to a tee.
Who most inspires your personal drive for success every day?
My grandmother is my inspiration. She was a beautiful person both physically and her internal self. Everyone who knew her respected her enormous generosity. She never met a stranger. She lived life to make life better for others. She’s my role model.
What is your best advice to women in Southwest Michigan looking to succeed, as you have, in business?
My best advice for women in Southwest Michigan is to always remember that there’s something to be learned from every experience you find yourself in, no matter what it may be. Take the lesson and grow from it.
What does your selection to the ranks of the Bold Women of Business from Moody on the Market mean to you?
I am humbly honored for the nomination and the selection. I don’t do what I do for any recognition. I do it simply because I believe the work I’m doing is needed and I think I can make an impact. And to have it acknowledged, is much appreciated.
