Accomplishments
I was able to start and grow a successful company, which has been a true honor and great experience. I am a Fire Chief for one fire department and a Captain Fire/Paramedic for another. Not only to I get the privilege of teaching people for our business, but I help train local first responders regularly. Last I am able to be apart of a small group that has created an 501c3 that is able to give back to first responders. All of these things I never thought I would be doing, and do have come this far by 34 has been amazing!
What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40?
I pray and hope to continue to grow the company as a whole. I would like to see both fire departments I am blessed to be apart of continue to strive and move forward with the times and grow. I want to make a positive impact on the community’s around me. I hope with the business growing we are able to give back more as well. I would like to see our 501c3 do even more for our local first responders throughout Berrien and Cass Counties.

Best advice you ever got?
So often I have been told or heard we can’t do that. That’s not gonna work. We have always done it this way. At the end of the day if you wanna move forward with change, the ever changing times, progression you have to make some waves. That doesn’t mean to make waves with people or things just because. But to make true change and have positive impacts on jobs, sales, life and people you have to jump in and make waves! You have to have the hard conversations and push for the change to happen. Never take the answer this is how it’s always been done. Come up with solutions, treat people well and push on!
Who inspires you most?
My family and Friends (those past and present that have stayed beside me along the way, pushed me to always do better and be the best I can be)!
That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
I started out as a Cadet Firefighter for Buchanan City Fire at the age of 15. Took Fire 1 and 2 and EMT training in high school. Oh and I hated public speaking in school, but now do it for a living.
What do you love to do in your downtime?
Travel, Camping, 4 Wheeling and being on the Lake with my Wife and Kids!
What book are you reading now?
One Second After
Volunteer activity you love the most.
Firefighting
What motivates you to give back to your community?
Seeing tragedy for as long as I have really is the reason to want to give back and help those in need.
What Superpower would you most love to have? (for example, the ability to fly or to be invisible, or incredible strength, etc)
So I love two superhero’s, but neither have a super power per se but if I could be like Batman or Iron Man, that would be awesome!
What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone?
That I was a good loving father, friend, instructor and mentor! That I helped not only my family be prepared for the future but future generations of first responders.
What does the  honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
It’s awesome, I have always seen these different awards and always wondered if anyone would ever nominate me for an award like this. I am honored to have been nominated and chosen for this award!
