Annual Major Spring Appliance Sale from Whirlpool Will Benefit United Way Campaign

One of the great benefits of having the world’s largest manufacturer of major home appliances right in your backyard is the opportunity to buy some of the company’s products not only at a discount, but to also know that the money you pay is helping boost the company’s United Way campaign.

United Way of Southwest Michigan has established the dates for the Whirlpool Corporation Spring Appliance Sale benefiting the company’s 2019 Employee United Way Campaign.

If you are in the market for a solid deal, make plans to hit the sale on Saturday and Sunday, May 18th and 19th to find the perfect option for you.

The team at Whirlpool will be selling more than 300 deeply discounted appliances on that Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm, and again on that Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. The sale is slated to take place at the Benton Harbor Tech Center, located at 151 N. Riverview Drive in Benton Harbor. United Way organizers suggest everyone hit the sale in order to “Get a great deal for a great cause!”

The sale, which is open to the public, will include Maytag, Amana, KitchenAid and Whirlpool brand ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers and washers and dryers. There will also be several Gladiator and KitchenAid Small Appliances offered at exclusive prices during the sale.

Gokul Nair, Whirlpool’s Senior Manager of Global Operations, says, “This event generated more than $160,000 during last spring’s Appliance Sale,” and adds,  “You’ll see average discounts of more than 40-percent on some incredible appliances. And it’s all to impact our local community.”

The sale will include new, discontinued, refurbished and obsolete product in original packaging with a full one-year warranty.

All products purchased must be picked up during sale hours. For an additional $100 donation per appliance, home deliveries will be available within a 15-mile radius. Cash and credit cards will be accepted for payment, however no checks will be accepted. Additionally you are cautioned, there will be no early sales.

It’s your chance to gather up the neighbors, your friends and family members and head out to shop—all while helping United Way of Southwest Michigan.
