It’s one of the ‘perks’ of living in Michigan’s Great Southwest: the chance to buy brand new appliances for a discount–and have every dollar go to benefit the United Way.
The annual United Way of Southwest Michigan Whirlpool Appliance Sale will take place earlier this year on Saturday, August 23 from 8am-4pm, and Sunday, August 24 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
This year’s sale is moving to the former Rosback building at 125 Hawthorne Ave in St. Joseph. The sale is ‘in person only’ and is open to the public. It offers 300+ discounted Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir and Whirlpool brand ovens, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers at significant savings. All major appliances are new with a full one-year warranty. The sale will also feature Gladiator, and KitchenAid small appliances and accessories offered at exclusive prices.
Cash and credit cards will be accepted and home delivery will be available for a $100 donation per appliance within a 15-mile radius of St. Joseph.
And remember: 100% of the proceeds from the appliances sold benefit United Way of Southwest Michigan!
“Whirlpool Corporation has a robust United Way employee campaign each year, and this event is by far our favorite to plan and witness its impact,” said Eduardo Andrade, Whirlpool Corporation’s VP of engineering and co-chair of this year’s employee campaign. “Our teams of volunteers work quite hard to find inventory from all over the United States to bring to this sale. Our mission is to improve life at home, and we know this is a great way to connect with our local communities and benefit their lives directly while also providing impact to United Way of Southwest Michigan’s work.”
The owner of the former Rosback factory property, Portage-based Clark Logic stepped in to again donate space at the building while United Way’s space at 211 Hilltop is being renovated. The even larger factory floor space will allow even more appliance inventory to be featured at this year’s sale along with more load-in and load-out spaces.
“To say the community looks forward to this sale each year is an understatement. It’s probably one of the things we get asked about the most,” said United Way President & CEO Anna Murphy. “I know our team and the Whirlpool campaign team have been planning this event for many months, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of their efforts. We can’t do the work we do in the community without great partnerships like this.”
