Antique Vendors Sought by St. Joe Today

Less than three weeks from now, virtually the entire length of Lake Bluff Park overlooking Lake Michigan in St. Joseph will be converted into one of the largest arrays of antiques and collectibles once again to kick off another season of the St. Joseph Today Antiques on the Bluff series. As the date rapidly approaches, the merchant promotion agency is seeking additional vendors to showcase in the series.

Lake Bluff Park has become the premier place to find antiques and collectibles in Southwest Michigan and the tradition of the Antiques on the Bluff series continues to run on the first Sunday of the month, May through October, in St. Joseph. This year's return of the popular monthly event will take place on Sunday, May 1st from 10am to 5pm, when vendors will sell their treasures along the tree-lined park on the western edge of the city.

Whitney Behnke is Executive Director of St. Joseph Today. She says, “We are taking vendor registrations now.” She points out, “There are booth spaces for dozens of dealers and this is a particularly good year to participate since two of the six Sundays fall on major holiday weekends when larger crowds flock to town.” This year's show dates are May 1, June 5, July 3, August 7, September 4 and October 2.

Behnke says merchandise is limited to antiques and collectibles, pointing out that reproductions, modern crafts or new merchandise are not allowed in the show. She is asking all interested vendors to contact Daniele at 269-985-1111 or daniele@stjoetoday.com. Dealers may be asked to provide a photograph of representative merchandise before a booth area is assigned. Vendors also will need a Michigan Sales Tax ID to participate. Information about obtaining a tax ID is available by clicking this link: www.michigan.gov/taxes.

Antiques on the Bluff is just one of several reasons to visit St. Joseph on Sundays. After viewing the booths, visitors can walk to nearby downtown shops, restaurants, family attractions, beaches and parks along the riverfront. Behnke says, “Starting on June 26th, our municipal band also performs free concerts on Sunday afternoons and evenings.”
