Application Process Now Underway for 4th Annual Holiday Food Sharing in SWM

Despite the winter chill, one of the most heartwarming scenes of the year is poised to play out once again soon when the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency steps out with partners from the City of Benton Harbor, the PGA of America, and Whirlpool Corporation for the 4th Annual Holiday Food Sharing Program.

As the chill of winter hits Michigan’s Great Southwest, warmth and generosity is pouring in for local residents in who could use a little hand-up this holiday season, as the Holiday Food Sharing Program collects and distributes approximately 400 turkeys and food boxes to local area residents and families hopeful for a bit of assistance from Benton Harbor, Benton Charter Township, St. Joseph, St. Joseph Township and other Berrien County Communities.

On December 21st all the partners will convene for the distribution, but there is an application requirement that residents hopeful of being in on must complete first.

Benton Harbor Mayor Marcus Muhammad says, “It is the season for giving and we are proud to partner with the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency for the fourth year in a row to lend a hand by providing meals for our neighbors and friends.” He adds, “Thanks to the support of our generous sponsors, the PGA of America and Whirlpool Corporation, we will reach families and residents across all our communities this year.”
