It’s time for Face Off: A Live Portrait Event on Friday, May 1, 6-9PM, at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St.

Get ready for the exciting return of one of The Box Factory’s most anticipated annual events — Face Off: A Live Portrait Event.

For the past 25 years, Box Factory studio artist Robert Williams has held group portrait painting sessions twice every week. Face Off gives the public a unique opportunity to observe these talented local artists as they work. This year, 17 artists, each displaying their own distinctive style, will bring portraits to life right before visitors’ eyes.

All portraits created during the event will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefitting the artists and arts programming at the Box Factory. It’s an evening packed with creativity and community, and is a great activity for a family fun night!

Face Off is part of the Box Factory’s new ArtJam series of FREE open house events. Each ArtJam features a main event along with open studios and exhibits throughout the building. In addition to the live portrait painting, the Spring ArtJam will include:

  • Live music by cellist William Jason Raynovich of Chicago’s MAVerick ensemble
  • Creative stations where you can make your own artwork
  • Beer, wine, and NA drinks are available for purchase at The Box Bar
  • Delicious gluten-free baked treats for sale from Bake Effect

A full list of participating artists and more information about the event can be found at https://boxfactoryarts.org/artjam/.
