In a brief statement on it sFacebook page, the Berrien County Health Department cites alarming figures from the CDC that show unvaccinated teens are TEN times more likely to be infected than those who’ve had their shots.
Data from a new CDC report shows that the hospitalization rate among unvaccinated adolescents (12-17 year-olds) was 10 times higher than among fully vaccinated adolescents. The report also found that hospitalization rates among children ages 0-4 increased 10x from late June to mid-August. We recommend adolescents 12 and older get vaccinated as soon as they can. And, while masks will be required for everyone in the school setting, we strongly urge that all individuals are wearing a mask in public indoor spaces. Learn more: bit.ly/MMWR9321b.
