Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who has been missing since last December.
Benton Township Police Detective Sgt. Tyler Tiefenbach says his department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Austin Ray McConnell who was reported missing by family members in December of 2020. Family members are concerned as they have not had any contact with him since December.
Tiefenbach says that Austin does suffer from depression and schizophrenia and is believed to have been without access to his medications. Family members believe that he may be in the Niles and/or South Bend Area. At this time, foul play is not suspected.
McConnell was reportedly last scene at the Travelodge located at 2063 Pipestone Road in Benton Harbor on December 5, 2020.
