Berrien County Parks Seek Input on New 5-Year Plan

Do you like to watch things happen, or do you prefer to make things happen? Too often there are many among us who do neither and then wander around wondering “what the heck happened?” If you really want to watch or make things happen when it comes to our county parks system, the crew at the Berrien County Parks Department would love to hear from you.

Berrien County Parks and Recreation officials are seeking public input, your input, on the development of the 2020-2024 Berrien County Parks Five Year Plan. That plan will cover all these parks:

  • Rocky Gap County Park
  • Silver Beach County Park
  • Love Creek County Park
  • Madeline Bertrand County Park
  • Historic Courthouse Square in Berrien Springs
  • Paw Paw River County Park
  • Galien River County Park

A draft of the 2020-2024 Five Year Plan is available at Love Creek, Madeline Bertrand, Historic Courthouse Square and at the Parks Administration office in St. Joseph.

The draft is also available at the public libraries in Watervliet and New Buffalo.  If you prefer to do so in your own home or office, the draft may also be viewed electronically on the Berrien County website at Berriencounty.org in the County News section.

You are invited to provide input by sending written comments to Berrien County Parks, 701 Main Street, St. Joseph MI, 49085 or you can email comments to parks@berriencounty.org. You are encouraged to have all written or emailed comments in by 5:00 pm on Monday, December 2nd, 2019, for your voice to be heard.
