The Berrien RESA Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) named Henry McNeily their 2024 Excellence in Education Award recipient during their 20th Annual Excellence in Education Award reception. McNeily is a First Student Inc. bus driver based in Berrien Springs and is assigned to the Berrien RESA ASD classroom at Coloma Elementary School.
According to his nomination, “Henry treats our students like the amazing tiny humans they are, looking past their disabilities and seeing them as people. He recognizes that they are each very different and require different accommodations and levels of support.”
One parent said, “I greatly appreciate all that you do for my child. You are by far the BEST bus driver for my daughter I have ever worked with!”
Individuals were nominated from school districts across Berrien County for their contributions to the education and success of students with disabilities. In total, 17 nominations were received this year, with each person being celebrated during the reception.
