Box Factory says ‘You can learn to sew by Spring!’  Class starts February 23

The Box Factory for the Arts in St. Joseph is offering those who always wanted to learn to sew that opportunity starting next month.

Learn to Sew, a series of hands-on sewing classes by Tisha Sandberg, will focus on confidence-building machine and sewing skills for the absolute beginner. Classes will be held at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad Street. The four-week series will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evenings, February 23, March 2, 9 and 16 in the Box Factory’s third floor conference room.
Activities will cover everything from the moment the machine is turned on to the completion of two simple sewing projects. Information about sewing machines and supplies will be provided as well as resources and informational hand-outs. No previous sewing experience is necessary and sewing machines will be provided.

There will be a minimum of 5 students and a maximum of 8 students for the classes. A non-refundable class fee of $100 for Berrien Artist Guild members and $110 for non-members will be charged upon registration. A supply fee of $20 will be paid directly to Sandberg at the first class. Registration is available online at https://boxfactoryforthearts.org/classes-workshops

Tisha has taught and exhibited in a variety of both art and quilting venues for many years. Hands-on classes for children and adults of all ability levels have been a focus, as well as spending time creating her own work. She has a studio at the Box Factory for the Arts.
