A ribbon-cutting celebration is planned this month for The Grant Hotel and McCollum’s Restaurant and Bar in downtown Buchanan.
The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber and Buchanan Area Chamber will host the event Tuesday, August 26th, from 4 to 6 p.m. with remarks beginning at 4:30. The business is located at 206 Days Avenue in Buchanan.
The Grant Hotel is a boutique hotel and venue inside the historic McCollum Building overlooking McCoy Creek. The property includes guest rooms, a dining area, and a speakeasy bar. McCollum’s Restaurant and Bar offers a seasonal menu along with bourbon, wine, and craft cocktails.
Organizers say guests at the ribbon-cutting can tour the hotel, sample appetizers, and enter giveaways, including a $250 gift certificate.
“This has been a challenging yet very exciting project for us,” said Cami Bowling, Managing Partner. “All three of us partners are locals—our kids have either graduated from Buchanan Schools or are currently enrolled there.”
“We’ve put our hearts and souls into this project and are thrilled to be able to provide a new space for the community to gather, reconnect, and enjoy family dinners, discussions, and celebrations,” said Bowling.
“The Grant Hotel and McCollum’s Restaurant & Bar are perfect examples of the kind of investment and vision that make our region so special, said Arthur Havlicek, President & CEO of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber. ” This space not only enhances Buchanan’s historic downtown but also creates new opportunities for connection, tourism, and economic growth. It’s a win for both residents and visitors, and we’re proud to celebrate alongside the owners and community.”
“Not only has The Grant Hotel & McCollums renovated and restored another historic building in Buchanan, they have filled a need within our community for lodging and fine dining, said Brandon DeJaynes, Director of the Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce. “These local investors are committed to our community and our community is committed to them. We cannot wait to see them become a gathering spot in our downtown for years to come!”
Owners say the project was designed to give the community a new place to gather and celebrate. Chamber leaders call the development an important investment that adds both lodging and dining options in Buchanan’s downtown.
