Businesses broken into around Berrien County; sheriff’s department investigating

The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a string of business break-ins.

The department says the BP station on Red Arrow Highway in Bridgman was broken into on February 26. Up next was the Marathon station on Sawyer Road in Chikaming Township on March 2, and then there was a break-in at Roger’s Foodland in St. Joseph on March 6.

The sheriff’s department says the suspect vehicles include a red Jeep Renegade, seen at the BP station, and a white Nisan Murano seen at the Marathon station. Both vehicles had their license plates obscured by a black material.

The suspects appear to be similar with dark clothing, hoodies, and masks. They’re seen in surveillance video using yellow crowbars to force entry. They are targeting the cash drawers and safes.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to contact the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
