If you’re looking for some holiday fun, try heading to South Haven.
The South Haven Chamber’s Olivia Thompson tells us there are all kinds of fun things to do this week. She recommends a drive-through lightshow consisting of hundreds of hand-crafted, lit, and painted props, all spanning a mile of orchard scenery.
“Crane’s Orchards, their drive-through holiday light show,” Thompson said. “We actually went to that last night. It is magical. The greatest thing about it for me is hearing those little kids go, like, just gasp, audibly gasp, every single time that you drive in. And it’s so fun to see. But it does run through December 28.”
Downtown South Haven is also lit up for the season.
“Our downtown is lit up beautifully. The city has done a really great job getting everything looking magical. And I know a lot of the businesses downtown have done the same. And the housing — people have really gone all out this year, making their houses and the businesses look super magical.”
Thompson says families can lace up skates at the South Haven Ice Rink, open daily except Christmas, or enjoy the Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum’s free outdoor Story Walk, featuring The Story of Snow.
Additional options include glow bowling, trivia brunch, and retro games at Rocket Arcade. Thompson says there’s no shortage of ways to get out, explore, and celebrate the holiday season. You can learn more at the chamber’s Facebook page.
And don’t forget — next week will bring one of South Haven’s biggest nights of the year with the New Year’s Eve Celebration.
