Clark Logic Acquires Kandler Tool Company, Expands Industrial Capabilities

Clark Logic of Kalamazoo has acquired Kandler Tool Company, a full-service machinery moving and rigging company based in Kalamazoo.  In a release, the company said this strategic acquisition enhances Clark Logic’s expanding industrial service capabilities and reinforces its ongoing commitment to investing in the Southwest Michigan region.

Founded in 1975, Kandler Tool Company focuses on heavy machinery transportation, offering disassembly, reassembly, installation, and relocation services for both individual machines and entire industrial plants.

Following the acquisition, the company will operate under the new name Kandler Tool Services.

“Kandler Tool Company has been a trusted name in heavy equipment moving and has long supported complex machinery moves throughout Southwest Michigan,” said Jamie Clark, President and Owner of Clark Logic. “Kandler’s fleet, deep knowledge of machinery relocation, and commitment to minimizing operational disruption make them an ideal fit for our company’s growth and significantly expands what we can offer our industrial clients. We are proud to add them to the Clark Logic family.”

Clark Logic is a Kalamazoo-based industrial services company that specializes in real estate development, transportation, logistics, warehousing, 3PL & handling, cardboard & paper recycling, semi-trailer & container rental and sales, facility cleaning, and automotive dunnage washing.

Clark Logic controls substantial industrial and warehouse space in the St Joseph/Benton Harbor area.  Its ‘available for lease’ listings include space in the former Heath/Zenith complex on Hilltop Road in St. Joseph, a large former industrial plant on Hawthorne Avenue, another at 211 Kerth Street and one at 1042 North Crystal Avenue in Benton Township.

According to the company’s website, with over 7 million square feet of industrial real estate, Clark Logic is one of the region’s most accomplished and recognized industrial developers and landlords. The purchase of Kandler Tool Company follows other recent Clark Logic business acquisitions, including Midwest Realty Group (Portage) and Lindsey Dedicated Services (Kalamazoo) in 2024.

Clark Logic is headed by Jamie Clark, a third-generation Michigan family owner who grew the firm from its roots as CMS Manufacturing Services in Three Rivers.  It is not affiliated in any way with the Clark Equipment construction machinery manufacturer once headquartered in Buchanan.  The remnants of Clark Equipment are now owned by Korea-based Hyundai after being owned for many years by Ingersoll-Rand Corporation.
