Cloned Credit Card Used to Steal from SJ Resident

Identity theft is sadly becoming all too much a part of the American landscape, but it can still be tough on those experiencing it for the first time, or even in an encore instance. St. Joseph Public Safety Officers are seeking the help of the general public in tracking down a brazen couple who recently helped themselves to somebody else’s resources by cloning their credit card and heading out for a shopping spree.

The resulting crimes comprise the local Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week. On March 28th the identity theft and illegal use of a credit card struck a St. Joe resident who filed a complaint with the police. Two unknown people used the cloned credit card to shop at several Walmart stores throughout the West Michigan region that day. The suspects are shown entering and/or departing several stores in surveillance video screen shots shown in the photos accompanying this story on Moody on the Market.com. Detective Adam Herbert of the St. Joseph Department of Public Safety is handling the case.

If you know either of the people shown in the photos or anything else regarding the case, Crime Stoppers wants the persons responsible for this identity theft and illegal use of a credit card and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest.  Crime Stoppers also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.
