Coloma coffee house announces business closure

The Green Dragon Coffee House in Coloma has permanently closed after five and a half years in business, citing health challenges and ongoing economic pressures.

The closure was announced by owner Leannette Garrison in a social media post, describing the decision as difficult but necessary.

“I am posting this with a heavy heart. We have closed our doors,” Garrison wrote. “With my health being up and down and with how the economy is I am left with no choice.”

Garrison thanked customers for their continued support over the years, noting that the business helped reconnect with longtime community members while also building new relationships.

“We (have) seen people we have not seen in many years and made some new friendships from this business,” the post stated. “Again I cannot express how grateful we are for all of you.”

Open since the first summer of the pandemic, the Green Dragon Coffee House at 8285 Arnt Boulevard served the Coloma community for more than five years, closing after what the owner described as “an amazing 5 1/2 years.”

“Thank you for an amazing 5 1/2 years. God bless and take care,” the post concluded.
