Cornerstone Alliance Crafts Economic Relief Task Force in Face of COVID-19

As businesses large and small throughout Michigan’s Great Southwest wade into the next four to eight weeks of virtually uncharted territory, driven by unprecedented economic conditions stressed by mass closures, cancellations and postponements, Cornerstone Alliance is stepping up to the window to let the business community know that they are ready to help in whatever way possible.

Cornerstone President Rob Cleveland says today that his organization has launched an Economic Relief Task Force targeted to the business community of our region.

Cleveland says this afternoon, “Cornerstone Alliance has created an internal task force that will provide current information on tools made available by state and federal governments.” He notes, “Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and the communities we serve. Like many around us, Cornerstone Alliance is taking an abundance of caution to positively impact slowing the spread of the virus. We are taking steps to support our employees and the safety of others. We will continue to provide the first-class service the business community expects from Cornerstone Alliance.”

To assist in the Economic Relief Task Force realm, a subsection of the organization’s website has been set aside as a business resource digest.

Cornerstone’s Director of Entrepreneurship & Placemaking, Stephanie Scott-Sims, tells us,  “Cornerstone Alliance has created a task force to connect local businesses with resources that will be made available by the state and federal government” She adds, “We are working with Congressman Fred Upton, the Small Business Administration (SBA) and other elected officials to understand the tools available to help small businesses navigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is our priority to work with these groups to assist local businesses with immediate needs. Moving forward, information and updates regarding available resources will be posted to our website at GoMichigan.com as well as the Cornerstone Alliance Twitter feed and Facebook page.”
