Countryside Academy students gain new skills while making holiday wreaths

High school students at Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor are spreading cheer by making and selling fresh holiday wreaths, all while learning real world agricultural skills.

The project, run by the school’s FFA chapter and ag program, has students hand-assembling wreaths with fresh greens inside the school greenhouse. Along the way, Countryside says they’re gaining experience in forestry products, floral design, and business management.

Money raised will support student leadership events, travel for competitions, and greenhouse supplies.

Countryside says wreath sales within the school community have already filled the students’ assembly capacity and outside orders will not be accepted this year.
