Southwest Michigan’s own CPR Dance: Inhale Movement is bringing its latest immersive performance to the Box Factory for the Arts in St. Joseph on Saturday, June 7. Titled “Resonance,” this contemporary dance concert promises an evening of dynamic, up-close artistry from 7 to 9 p.m.
Founded in Stevensville by artistic director Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers, CPR Dance has quickly grown into a regional and national presence, with “Resonance” set to tour in Michigan, Chicago, New York, and Texas. The concert showcases new original works by Rabbers and assistant director Sara Kausch, alongside pieces by internationally recognized guest artists including Seyong Kim, Saygia Eugene Peabody, Ciana Jao, and CPR company members.
One of the standout elements of “Resonance” is its unique “in the round” format, where dancers perform in the center of the room, surrounded by the audience on all sides. “It’ll be very up-close, almost like you’re on stage yourself,” Rabbers explains. This intimate setting supports the concert’s theme—exploring how we affect and are affected by the world around us through movement.
The evening will also feature a special appearance by students from the Fusion Center for Dance in Benton Harbor, spotlighting the next generation of local talent.
Tickets are available online at ticketstripe.com/cprdance2025 for $12 general admission or $15 for cabaret seating. Walk-in tickets are $15. Children 12 and under are free. The Box Factory is located at 1101 Broad Street in St. Joseph. Learn more at inhalemovement.com or boxfactoryforthearts.org.
