An Earth Day cleanup event is planned at Hall Park in Benton Harbor. The Southwest Michigan Planning Commission says it’s going to work with volunteers to not only clean up the park, but also Ox Creek as efforts to continue to revitalize the area. The Southwest Michigan Planning Commission told us more:
On Saturday, April 22 from 12 -3pm, the community is invited to an Earth Day Celebration and Ox Creek Cleanup Event at Hall Park in downtown Benton Harbor. This free family friendly event will offer kids and family activities, such as guided nature hikes, scavenger hunt, exploring creek critters, geocache activity, crafts and more! Sarett Nature Center will also have live animals on display. There will be music and special speakers such as past mayor Emma Hull. There will be food from Sweeny Weenies available on a first come, first serve basis. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes for nature hikes and the cleanup.
Come celebrate the earth, Hall Park, Ox Creek and Benton Harbor with us! The event is made possible by the City of Benton Harbor and the following: Berrien County Conservation District, Sarett Nature Center, Be Healthy Berrien, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan, Interfaith Action, Let Us REST, Present Pillars, Zoy Adventures, Benton Harbor Community Development Corporation, Southwest Michigan Planning Commission, Sweenie Weenies, Abonmarche and The Livery.
