The South Haven Regional Business Hub is gearing up for a celebration of local entrepreneurship with its third annual PITCH event, set for November 5.

Hub Director Elizabeth Bernhard tells us The Pitch will feature seven entrepreneurs who took part in the hub’s most recent GROWTH Series, a 20-week program designed to help their businesses succeed through workshops and mentorships. At The Pitch, each will present their growth plans moving forward.

We will have individual investors there who are looking for small businesses like these seven to support,” Bernhard said. “We also have several people attending who are looking to contribute their services.”

Bernhard says this won’t quite be Shark Tank, but it will give these entrepreneurs a chance to attract that help. She looks forward to the celebration, telling us it’s inspiring to watch small business owners pursue their dreams.

“Every single day, it’s incredibly thrilling to see and learn about the inspiration that’s taking place within our region, as well as the courageous men and women who are willing to take a chance and start a small business.”

Bernhard says last year, 2,600 applications to start a business were made right here in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties.

The pitches that will be heard at The Pitch will be from the owners of Carriage House Ciders, The Lucky Wolf, Siren’s Rose Tattoo Studio, Forever Clean Soapworks, Light Community, Munchie Man, and Health Elevated.

The Pitch will be open to the public and free to attend. It’s set for November 5 at the South Haven campus of Lake Michigan College. Doors will open at 5:15, and the pitches will start at 6.
