Express Employment Pros Hosting Class on Business Values

Whether you’ve been in business for decades or are in the early stages of crafting your business development plan, the team at Cornerstone Alliance Small Business Services is hosting a special class this month by Express Employment Professionals of Southwest Michigan to help identify your team’s core values and your mission going forward.

Ryan Smith and Afiya Latham are the owners of Express Employment Pros, and they are offering a class for prospective and established business owners alike, to assist business owners in identifying things like the company’s core values and the mission of their business in order to understand the potential benefits you can receive. Smith and Latham will tell you that, “Leaders who establish strong values and a clear mission statement can build a positive and productive culture from the top down.”

Smith and Latham complete each day working entirely separate roles but come together to create a positive working environment. Smith, a professional recruiter, understands the value in finding talent that suits a position well. Latham, a native of Southwest Michigan, believes that keeping a service-minded mentality motivates her to help others find success in today’s workforce. They both strive to highlight the significance of values and want to provide information regarding how to build a memorable culture.

Latham says, “Originally, when Ryan and I took over the business, we wanted everyone on the same page,” adding, “We had a conversation with staff to agree on what we, the owners and staff, felt was important moving forward. They threw a party with the previous owner and as a result the following core values were implemented: Character, Respect, Teamwork, Healthy Communication, Professionalism, and Attitude.” In fact, Express Employment does not have a handbook, because everything ties back to the values.

Their class with the Small Business Services team is slated for Thursday, March 19th, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Cornerstone Alliance headquarters, located at 80 W. Main Street in downtown Benton Harbor.

There is a $10.00 registration fee. To register, you can click the link below or contact Dubelsa Mata-Garcia at (269) 757-0225. Here’s the direct link:
