Field of Flags Returns to the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship

Join in the honoring of our active, retired, and fallen military members by sponsoring or purchasing a flag to be proudly displayed at Harbor Shores, during the week of May 25th – 29th, for the 82nd KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship.

Lest We Forget USA and the Exchange Club of Southwest Michigan will pay tribute and show our gratitude to individuals chosen by friends and family members in a grand display of a “Field of Honor”, which will be located at the 18th hole. These flags are $50 each, and can be purchased from any Lest We Forget member, Exchange Club member, or online from the Colonial Flag Company at healingfield.org/bentonharbormi.

After the PGA has concluded, your flag will be moved to the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport for the Lest We Forget reenactment on June 18th and 19th. The theme for this year’s reenactment is ‘Women: We too, gave our all’, and will pay tribute to women on the homefront and in the military.

Businesses, organizations, or individuals interested in sponsoring a flag for the Avenue of Flags that will line the entrance to the tournament can purchase one in the same fashion, and these will cost $75 each. All flags that are purchased will include a keepsake sign showing who has been honored. The deadline to purchase a flag is May 1, 2022.

The KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship gladly welcomed these groups to display the ‘Field of Flags’ in 2016, and again in 2018. The field was a prominent symbol of our thanks, proudly presenting 300 flags both years. During the 2008 Field of Honor flag display, Bob Heft, the creator of the 50 Star flag of the United States, was in attendance. Bob designed our flag as a junior in high school in 1958.

“The PGA of America is humbled to honor our military members this Memorial Day Weekend, and supports this effort to fly 300 flags during this nationally televised Championship. All military personnel and an accompanying guest are provided free admission to the Championship.”
