Gas up those little garden tractors and head to the Michigan Flywheelers Museum for its first annual Garden Tractor Show.

Held in conjunction with the museum’s Swap Meet/Flea Market on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, this new event will feature parades, pulls and, of course, a large outdoor flea market.

Open to young and old, antique as well as newer garden tractors are welcome.

The event starts on Friday with a kids’ pedal pulls at 11 a.m., garden tractor pulls at 5 p.m. followed by a lighted tractor parade at 8 p.m. Saturday begins with kids’ pedal pulls at 11 a.m., a parade at 2 p.m. and garden tractor pulls at 2:30 p.m.

“We added this event as a way to encourage younger people to get interested in tractors,” explains Jason Adams, museum director. “We’ve noticed a trend over the years during our September antique engine and tractor show that young adults as well as kids first buy a riding lawn mower to bring to the show and eventually start collecting antique tractors.”

In addition to the tractor show, visitors will be able to search for treasures in the flea market. A fundraiser for the museum, the Swap Meet/Flea Market will feature over 100 vendors selling everything from apples to antiques.

Admission to the event is $2 per person with children 12 and under free with paid admission. No pets allowed with paid admission. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Exhibitor and vendor registration hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 5 through Saturday, June 7.  There is no charge to exhibit a tractor, but any exhibitor who would like to camp overnight in an RV or motorhome there is a $20 camping fee.

Zero turn mowers are not allowed and all mower decks must be removed. Drivers under the age of 12 must have a guardian with them while driving. If you are interesting in participating in the tractor pulls there is a $5 charge for unlimited pulling.

Cost to sell in the flea market is $20 per vendor. There is no space limit and vendors are allowed to camp on their site at no extra charge.
