The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance welcomed its newest client, Gelato Paradiso, with a Grand Opening celebration this week at The Market, 301 Main Street, St. Joseph.
Founded by local artist and entrepreneur Nicolina Holt, Gelato Paradiso is an
authentic Italian gelato shop inspired by her Sicilian heritage, creative spirit, and
love for community. The shop will offer a carefully curated selection of artisanal
gelato flavors—ranging from Sicilian Pistachio and Piemonte Hazelnut Crunch to
kid-friendly favorites like Italian Chocolate Chip (Stracciatella). Guests will also find
a variety of Italian cookies, pastries, chocolates, and drinks.
“I’ve always dreamed of opening a gelato shop—something I thought I’d do in
retirement,” said Nicolina. “When the opportunity came to fill a gap for sweets inside
The Market, I knew I had to bring a little taste of Italy to St. Joseph.”
Gelato Paradiso will operate from 12:00–8:00 PM daily (with seasonal adjustments),
providing a new gathering spot where families and friends can enjoy a sweet treat in
a lively, European-style setting.
Located in the heart of downtown St. Joseph, The Market is a year-round
marketplace that brings together local food, drink, and artisan vendors under one
roof. Visitors can explore a variety of businesses, including Dad’s Farm, The Cheese
Lady, the St. Joseph Wine Shoppe, Infusco Coffee, The Taproom and Wild Ginger Flowers & Gifts—making it a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Gelato Paradiso to The Market family,” said Deb Sailor, Market Manager. “Nicolina’s artistry and passion for authentic Italian flavors
perfectly complement the mix of unique, local businesses that make The Market
such a special place to shop, dine, and connect.”
Brandy Jaquez, Managing Director of the Women’s Business Center, commented ,
“From initial concept to opening day, Nicolina’s vision and passion have been clear and
we’re happy to see it come to life. Supporting women entrepreneurs like her to
create sustainable businesses is a pillar of the Women’s Business Center.”
