MICHauto, an automotive and technology association based in Detroit, has awarded a west Michigan group $125,000 to help attract high-tech workers. Rachel Gray, the executive director of Hello West Michigan, said the regional recruiting process has changed in recent years.
“When companies are looking to locate their businesses, they want to locate in a talent rich area,” Gray said. “It becomes really important that as a community, we’re cultivating people, places where people want to be.”
The new partnership is called the Say Hello initiative. Hello West Michigan is funded with a $2 million state grant intended to attract more workers into the automotive, mobility, and technology sectors.
