Great Lakes Eye Care has announced the addition of Dr. Nicholas Keinath, OD, to its team of eye care professionals.

Dr. Nicholas Keinath (pronounced k-EYE-nith) grew up on a farm in Deerfield, Michigan. He earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan, and completed his Doctor of Optometry at the Michigan College of Optometry, graduating with highest distinction. He then pursued a one-year postgraduate residency in ocular disease at the Cincinnati Eye Institute, where he trained alongside leading specialists in retina, uveitis, cornea, glaucoma, and oculoplastics.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Keinath has participated in multiple international medical mission trips to Mexico, Ukraine, and Dominica. On these trips, he provided eye care to underserved populations while helping to establish sustainable, long-term partnerships. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and is actively pursuing Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Keinath enjoys pick-up basketball, board games, and baking. He is active in his  church and values thoughtful conversation on life, faith, and purpose.

Great Lakes Eye Care is excited to welcome Dr. Keinath and is confident he will be a valuable asset to both the practice and his patients.  Dr. Keinath will begin seeing patients mid-September.
