Hello Beautiful Boutique opened its doors on Friday for their grand opening. Located in Benton Harbor’s Arts District at 170 E Wall Street. The boutique promises a diverse range of women’s and men’s clothing along with accessories including jewelry, purses, shoes, ties, cufflinks, and more.
The journey of Hello Beautiful Boutique traces back to its humble beginnings 11 years ago, as Destiny Burton and co-owner Kenyona Speight embarked on a business venture from their own home, starting with jewelry. Kenyona shared, “My mother was losing her job, and with her unemployment check of only $119, she created Hello Beautiful. At the time, I was just graduating college, and I felt geared to start a business with her. So, we started with just jewelry, and then we included jewelry and purses. We built it from there – from jewelry to clothing, purses, shoes, and more.”
Despite facing challenges and numerous sleepless nights, the boutique expanded its offerings over the years. Kenyona expressed gratitude for the community’s support, mentioning, “We’ve had several other locations, but this is the best location we’ve had. It took a lot of hard work, sleepless nights, and trial and error, while learning from mistakes.”
Hello Beautiful Boutique aims to cater to a broad demographic, offering sizes ranging from small to plus size, with plans to expand further in the future. Speight said, “We want to serve more demographics and age groups. We believe in making women and men feel good and empowered. Our men’s line is built upon that classy look, whether it’s an everyday or evening look.”
During winter months, they will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm. With the arrival of summer, they plan to extend their hours.
