Honor Credit Union has launched its 16th Annual Teacher Awards, continuing its commitment to  celebrating and supporting educators across Michigan. This year, 40 teachers will each receive a $500 Amazon digital gift card to help bring their classroom dreams to life, totaling $20,000 in awards across the state.

The Teacher Awards reflect Honor Credit Union’s deep roots in education. Originally founded as Berrien Teachers Credit Union, Honor tries to maintain a strong connection to educators and schools in the communities it serves.

Teachers are encouraged to apply to win a $500 Amazon digital gift card by submitting a short statement (200 words or less) detailing how they would use the funds to support their students or enhance their classroom environment. The application window is Monday, June 16, 2025, through Friday, July 18, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST. Winners will be notified by Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

“Supporting teachers has always been at the heart of who we are,” said Scott McFarland, CEO of Honor Credit Union. “Our roots as a teachers’ credit union drive our passion for education and community. The Teacher Awards program is one of the many ways we show our gratitude to educators who go above and beyond every day. We’re proud to lighten the financial load many teachers take on themselves and to support the success of the students they inspire every day.”

Applicants do not need to be Honor Credit Union members to participate. To apply and view the official rules, visit honorcu.com/teachers. Only selected winners will be contacted.
