Tell us the story behind the nominated company. What does it do, and what sets them apart from other companies in the region?
HOPE Resources is a food pantry + they also have clothing, kitchen items, bedding, personal care items, baby diapers and formula, lady’s personal items, dog and cat food. They help the community by giving them a hand up to those in need. They also have community classes such as sewing, knitting, crochet, nutrition, crockpot class, and budgeting. A few volunteers assist in delivering food to homes and help in finding and transporting furniture to those in need. They serve the area of Coloma, Watervliet and Hagar school district. They are always looking at opportunities to serve the people of these three communities and finding resources to help those in need. This is a nonprofit and exist on the generosity of the community.
In your own words, why do you think this company deserves to be declared to be one of the 20 Best Places to Work in Michigan’s Great Southwest?There is only one paid person of this nonprofit the executive director, everyone else is a volunteer. All volunteers are there to help those in need without judgment to provide emotional support, guidance and direction.
What makes workers proud to say they work there, and keeps them a part of the team?
A community of caring people, who want to help those in need without judgment and provide a smile and encouragement on their journey.

A] Keep spirits and motivation high? Candy, cookies, nuts -feed the sole when we have a stressful fast pace day
B] Keep innovation and fresh ideas advancing? Always looking for opportunities to serve community better.
C] Keep communications open? Listens to others volunteers’s ideas to provide better service to those we serve.

When a participant says I have never wore a dress before, I feel pretty. When a participant is so overwhelmed by what we have provided to them FREE, they cry because they felt lost , unheard and unappreciated, and it was provided without judgment of their situation.

D] How does the nominated company celebrate life? Being able to supply food to 150-200 families and over 1,000 clothing items to those in need FREE.
What one thing is special about your nominated company that most people in the community have no idea actually happens there, but should be shouted from the rooftops because it’s that cool?
When community members come to see what we do, they are surprised at how much we do and how clean and organized everything is.

Our executive director has found free services to provide at our center. Free diapers and wipes, Free formula, Free women’s products. Willing to follow up on any avenue to secure services for are participants.
