Thanks to the largesse of Horizon Bank, the Friendship Botanic Gardens of Michigan City is a step closer to their new Celebration Pavilion designed to host special events, business meetings and more coming soon.
Horizon Bank reported this morning that they made a sizable donation to the Friendship Botanic Gardens in the amount of $35,000 last month. The check was presented by Craig Dwight, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer to John Leinweber, President of the Board of Directors at Friendship Botanic Gardens, back on November 19, 2019.
Those funds will be used to build the Celebration Pavilion, a premiere venue that will hold up to 250 guests for special events, educational activities, business meetings and more. The Pavilion has lighting, ceiling fans, and sides and will allow 250 guests to sit comfortably at an outdoor venue. With that new structure, The Gardens will continue to serve the visitors and residents of Northwest Indiana and Southwest Michigan where Horizon hosts multiple branch locations to serve their clientele.
On behalf of the Gardens, Leinweber says, “We are so grateful for Horizon’s continued support of our gardens. The Gardens are an asset with unlimited potential to make a difference in our community.” He adds, “The new Celebration Pavilion is the first ever major building on our grounds and we look for it to provide an amazing venue for all of events we hold as well as serve our community partners with a comfortable meeting and event space. Again, we’d like to express our sincerest gratitude to Horizon Bank for their phenomenal commitment to the future of Friendship Botanic Gardens.”
Horizon’s Dwight says, “The Friendship Botanic Gardens is an amazing place to visit and has become a destination point in Northwest Indiana. This pavilion will be a perfect addition to the beautiful gardens and all they have to offer.”
